amendments easier and cheaper. If you would like a new binder please include
£1.50 to cover excess postage to your membership cheque or put £1.50 in stamps
on your A5 (16cm x 23cm) returns envelope.

their business. There is a one off payment of £100.The advert will stay in the
rule book and be issued to all new members each year. If you want to change

MATCH
SECRETARIES REPORT
The 2008
season is already 3 matches in but here is my report for the 2007 season.
A total of
36 angler’s fished competitions last years. That’s 32 seniors and 4 juniors,
both down on last year. It would be nice to see more pleasure anglers turning
out for matches. How many of you have seen the results in the tackle shop or in
the local newspaper and thought I can beat that. Why not have a go we can all
catch fish but nothing beats that feeling when you finish in the top three and
win some money or better still you win outright and see your name on a trophy
or in the paper.
I myself
came in to match fishing late as did my assistant Billy Usher and we’ve both
had our moments of glory, so why not give it a try.
The
C.P.A.S. Trophy was a close affair which I won with 130 points with Laurie
Webster second with 123 points (the same 1st and 2nd as
last year). In third place was Don Copeland with 91 points. The full points
list can be found in Den’s Tackle which also includes the junior totals.
Other
trophy winners were Kevin Durman, Brian Weir, Danny Lunt, Billy Usher, Ron
Thomsett and newcomer Charlie Morris.
The junior
C.P.A.S. winner was Jamie Musson with 97 points, second was Jake Hilliard with
88 points and third was Matt Webster with 49 points. The junior trophies were
divided between the top 3. Jake Hilliard also won the C.P.A.S. junior Open with
Matt Webster second and Jamie Musson third.
We fished a
one off match against Ashford A. S. at
Last year
we also tried a match on
Well that’s
my lot look forward to seeing you all on the bank.
Tight lines
Paul Musson.

Hi Guys yet another season
approaches, I hope the last was a good one. There have been some good fish
caught on our waters this season. Bob Fittal had a Club record Pike of 29lbs
7oz. Well done Bob that is going to be hard to beat. The best Tench weighed in
this year was weighed in by Dave Jakeman at 6lbs 8oz, nice one Dave.
The Carp anglers have had
healthy competition on the canal but once again Nick Lawton came out on top
with a 31lb Mirror Carp. Not to be out done though Kavon Karimi took the Anniversary
Carp Trophy with a beautiful Mirror Carp of 28lb and Common Carp of 20lb 4oz.
I’m sure some of you will be saying I’ve caught a bigger fish but did you
register them with the club? We would love to hear about them and see photos.
On another note we have some
great waters and need to look after them. I’d like to remind you all that we
run work parties in the summer and could do with members help to keep the
waters looking good. The amount of members attending work parties is almost non
existent. It would be great to see some
new faces it’s only for 3 or 4 hours on a Saturday morning once a month. Just a
handful of people would make a big difference If you are a Senior member or an
Intermediate just going up to a senior membership you can get an £11 discount
on your next years membership. A big thanks to the few people who do turn up to
help.
Hope to see you all on the
bank this season.
Billy Usher
