Any location tips for a day's simple gudgeon fishing on your canal? I like the sound of the western section if it's likely to be more peaceful,
Canalman wrote on 19th January 2016 at 9:39 am:
Hi John. I think you will find the state of the canal more of a problem than the parking. There is room for a few cars beside the road - but the canal is currently nothing other than a two foot deep muddy drain. And, James, 'lure work' is out of the question.
James wrote on 15th January 2016 at 10:33 am:
How goes the pike fishing? was thinking of doing some lure work just not sure on location yet.. suggestions????

Thanks Roger. I appreciate your reply. Hopefully we'll catch one or two.
Roger wrote on 7th November 2015 at 6:58 pm:
I've piked on the canal for many years and can honestly say that I haven't found any real hot spots. They seem to be everywhere. A few years ago I had some larger fish behind Pennypot in those quieter sections. Other than that, it's much of a muchness.
Aldergate is another option with some decent fish heading towards the dam.
Good luck with your search.
