Morning Bob, if you direct your question to the cinque ports angling Facebook page you would get an answer there.

Hi, I have asked this question before but dont seem to get a reply; what do members honestly think of Stanford? I fished it a few times a couple of years ago and found it over crowded and slow. Trying to decide whether or not to re join CPAS. Thanks.

Morning Alberto,There is No closed season on the canal.
Alberto wrote on 18th March 2021 at 7:00 am:
Hi, is the canal open during close coarse fishing season? Thanks.
Rich Giddens wrote on 21st February 2021 at 2:04 pm:
Hi I was thinking of a day's lure fishing on the canal but am unsure of the area now available on day ticket. If I parked in West Hythe and walked west, once past the dam, would I be able to fish all the way to Giggers Green Bridge? Many thanks.

Any tips for fishing the Royal Military Canal? Trying to catch Carp, but not had any luck whatsoever.

If anyone knows any tips and tricks, would love to know!

Cheers

Hi Wilkins. You can buy a day ticket on the bank when the bailiff comes along.

I was planning to go fishing to the canal next week on a day ticket basis, I’ve never done it before and I am not sure how can I pay the fee, can someone explain me how to do it? Thanks!!

Hi Barry - you'll need to contact the membership secretary - details are under the 'join' tab above. It seems that nobody from the club responds to requests or messages on this forum

I just wanted to say I joined Cinque Ports Angling Society about three weeks ago and fished Beachborough on Saturday for the very first time. I was rewarded with an 11lb mirror leaving me more than happy with my decision to join. Here's to my next visit.

Someone on Hythe residents Facebook group has posted they have a black leather notebook along canal that looks like belongs to a fishing bailiff... can you spread the word? Ie via Paul Goss

Thanks

Not too sure about fishing being taken. Done a few 24hr sessions and had loads of decent sized ones. Biggest 19lb
Loads of low doubles.
The fish last season where long and skinny with parasites all over. This Season the fish seem to be a lot deeper bodied
Definitely put weight on
